This learning scenario is designed for children between the ages of 7 and 10. This learning scenario has been designed within the scope of step by Step STEM eTwinning project activities.
In the learning scenario, students learn that rainwater harvesting provides independent water supply during water constraints. They learn that rainwater harvesting is a critical source of clean water in areas where clean water is costly or difficult to obtain. They also learn that rainwater can be used in areas such as garden irrigation and toilets.
Students will first illustrate and then make a model of a simple rainwater harvesting system.
The learning scenario is designed according to the 5E model.

Rainwater Harvesting

Şükriye Onsun Primary School 2-İ grade students watched videos about storing rainwater in places where rainwater is limited. Later, they created their own designs and based on the designs made, they made the model of 'Rain Water Collection System'. They have learned to offer a solution to a problem encountered in daily life and to do concrete studies related to the suggestion.
